The answer is actually very simple. If our equation is (x+458)/-6=0 then what we do is solve for x by reversing the operations. We do this by applying the reverse of multiplication and division and then the reverse of addition and subtraction.
Our first order of business is the -6. We can multiply it to the other side because it's holding on by division.
-6*(x+458)/-6=0*-6
The -6 cancels out with the -6 on the left and the 0*-6 just becomes a 0. From here we need to separate x and 458. They have addition holding them together so to break them apart we do the reverse of addition and subtract 458 from each side
x+458-458=0-458 to get
x=-458. And that's the answer.
Another way to do this is to realize that the only way (x+458)/-6 can equal to zero is if the numberator part is a 0. So we can right away set x+458 equal to 0 and solve for x.
Hope this helped.
