-3/2 = -1.5

you need 90+1.5= 91.5 or more

well....if x stands for his final test grade, you can represent the new average as

 

(94+83+88+92 + 2x) / 6 which must be >= 90.

 

Cross multiply to get

2x + 357 >= 540

2x           >= 183

x            >=91.5

 

So the lowest whole number score you can get is a 92 and still get an A.
