An average middle income family will spend 242,400 to raise a child born in 2004 from birth to age 17. The graph shows the percents spent on various categories. To the nearest dollar, how much will be spent to provide housing for the child?

If housing is 35% and the average income spent is $242,400. My guess is that you would multiply 35% (or .35) by $242,400.

 

Answer: 242,400*.35= $84,840
