A bottle of soda is 5/8 full. If John drunk 2/5 of its content, what part of the bottle now has soda?

This is a basic fraction word problem but im a bit confused with my answer. help me understand with your solution/explanations

The bottle is 5/8 full before John drank 2/5 of that.

 

Amount remaining = 5/8 - (2/5)(5/8) = 5/8 - 1/4

 

                                                    = 5/8 - 2/8 = 3/8 of the bottle
