Chelsea left the airport and drove toward the dump at an average speed of 55 km/h.  Jaidee left at the same time and drove in the opposite direction with an average speed of 75 km/h.  How long does Jaidee need to drive before they are 260 km apart.

55 + 75 = 130, so the distance grows 130 km per hour.

 

130x = 260

Divide both sides by 130:

x = 260 / 130

x = 2

 

2 hours.
