Hi Jazmin.... You are not clear what you are asking for....
So....I'll make a guess....
First....Get the square root of 27......and also.....
Second.......Get the Square root of 28
to estimate 5.2

To estimate the value of a mathematical expression, we use "convenient" nearby values that provide a quicker, easier solution.
The "convenient" nearby value of 5.2 is most likely 5 [it depends on the expression being evaluated]. This makes multiplication pretty easy since it becomes ("times 10, divided by 2" or "divided by 2, times 10"). For example: What is 2468*5.2? Our estimate would be (2468/2)*10 = 12340. [note that the actual value is 12833.6]
How about an estimate of "How much of a fold do I sew for a hem so that the curtain goes around a 5/8" curtain rod?" Well, it is slightly more that the circumference [πd = (3.14)(5/8)] divided by 2 [for folding in half]. Our estimate is "a little more than 3*5, divided by 16." That is, "a little more than 15 divided by 16. This means that a 1-inch fold (15+/16) is a nice, snug fit.
Another example: If you average 62.5 miles per hour on the highway, how long will it take you to drive 42 miles?" Our estimate would be "62.5 is a little more than 60 (which is 1 miles per minute), so it would take approximately 42 minutes."
Estimating has great value when you want to verify that your calculated answer is "in the ball park." For example, if you calculated the trip time just mentioned to be 32 minutes, you would know that answer is wrong.

To estimate is to round to the nearest number. You usually round up if it's 5 or more and round down for less than 5.
5.2 rounds down to 5
