To solve this problem we need to think about the multiples of both 28 and 35.

 

28:  28 56 84 112 140 168 196 224 252 280

35:  35 70 105 140 175 210 245 280

 

Notice that two of the multiples above are the same in both strings, namely 140 and 280

 

Matthew will do both activities every 140 days.
