There are 5 bottles (A, B, C, D, E). There is a group of 150 people. Each person from the group gets to take home 3 out of the 5 bottles. How many bottles do i need to order?

If each person can take only three bottles, and you don't know which bottles a person would take, to be on the safe side I would say get 150 bottles of each type.

The problem, as stated, allows each of the 150 people to select the same three bottles. Therefore you would need to order 150 of each of the five.
The problem, as stated, permits each of the 150 to smell consecutively, i.e, one after another. The problem, as stated, allows more than one person to smell any one bottle. Therefore you only need one of each bottle.
