Question

the gazebo that will be in the shape of a regular hexagon. (What does regular mean?) Each side will be 5x + 21

a) Write the expression that represents the perimeter of the gazebo, in terms of x.
b) If the perimeter is going to be 36 feet, what are the dimensions of the building?

Answer 1

A regular polygon has all sides equal. All of the interior angles are also equal.

A hexagon has six sides.

p = 6(5x + 21)

p = 30x + 126

 

36 = 30x + 126

-90 = 30x                subtract 126 from both sides

-3 = x
