how to tell if a linear system has one, none, or infinitely many solutions?

I just want to no how to do this without solving the linear system. and maybe graphing?

1) same slope, different y-intercept, no solution.
2) different slope, one solution
3) same slope, same y-intercept, unlimited number of solutions.

Let's add that, in the case 3 which Mark M. cites, the system really boils down to the two equations being equivalent, so the solution is one line (containing the indicatedmany, many points).
