3( R- 9 ) + 9= -3
R - 9 + 3 = -1 / divide both sides by 3
R = 6 - 1 = 5 / add 6 to both sides of equation.
Be always observant , and simplify.

3(R + -9) + 9 = -3
You can start working on what is inside the bracket. Everything in the bracket is to be multiplied by 3. By doing this you will be removing the bracket.
- 3 x R = 3R
- +
- 3 x -9 = -27
Put them back together with the +9
4. 3R - 27 + 9
Then make the equation complete by showing that everything = - 3
5. 3R -29 +9 = -3
Note [9-27=18]
6. 3R - 18 = -3
Put the numbers together, remember when a number of letter crosses over the = sign,
I call it crossing over the bridge, the sign changes
8) 3R = -3 + 18
9) 3R = 15
Divide both sides by 3
10) 3R ÷ 3 = 15 ÷ 3
11) R = 5
Answer R=5

The first step is to multiply the 3 into the parenthesis
3R-27+9=-3
3R-18=-3
Divide the whole equation by 3 to get R by itself
R-6=-1
R=5

(R+-9)=(R-9)
3(R-9)+9=-3
3R-27+9=-3
3R-18=-3
3R=18-3
3R=15
R=5, or
3(R+-9)+9=-3
3R+(3)(-9)+9=-3
3R-27+9=-3
3R-18=-3
3R=18-3
3R=15
R=5
