Factor the top:
(x+5)(x-5)
---------------
x2 + 2x - 15
Factor the bottom:
(x+5)(x-5)
---------------
---------------
(x+5)(x-3)
x+5 on top cancels out with the one on bottom:
(x+5)(x-5)
---------------
(x+5)(x-3)
---------------
(x+5)(x-3)
Answer is:
x-5
-----
x-3
Note that the expression would not be valid at x = 3, since it would make the denominator 0, but I am pretty certain that they just wanted you to simplify the expression since no function notation was specified.
