I can clarify, redefine, and expound on Mathematic Subjects.
The problem is sectioned off into specific sections, so we will solve one side first, and then the other and combine.
((-13)-(-27))
Subtracting a negative number is the same as adding a positive number, so instead it looks like
((-13)+27)
When adding and subtracting the sign with the larger value is the sign that stays. If they are different signs, the smaller value subtracts from the larger value, and the sign of the larger value remains.
Positive 27 is the larger value, so the end result will be positive, and the answer is 27 (larger value) - 13 (smaller value). 27 - 13 = 14 which is positive already.
((-25)-(-40))
Again, subtracting a negative number is the same as adding a positive number, so instead it looks like
((-25)+40)
Positive 40 is the larger value, so the end result will be positive, and the answer is 40 (larger value) - 25 (smaller value). 40 - 25 = 15 which is positive already.
(14) + (15) = 29
The answer is 29.
