If (a,b) is a solution to the equation above, what's the ratio b/a, given that a does not equal to 0?

Why don't you just solve the equation and then find b/a?

 

Here:

 

1/2(4a + 10b) = b

 

2a + 5b = b

 

2a = -4b

 

2/-4 = b/a

 

b/a = -1/2.
