log of 60 to the base 8 is the power to which 8 must be raised to give 60. We solve for x in
60=8x. Taking logs on both sides, their base doesn't matter, we have
log(60)=xlog(8) or that x=log(60)/log(8)
log(60)=xlog(8) or that x=log(60)/log(8)
