Hi Hazem,

There are 2 types of units generally used in math; simple units and compound units.

 

Simple units contain a single unit, such as length in meters, time in seconds or weight in grams.

 

Compound units contain more than one  unit, such as meters squared (m²) for area, miles per hour for speed (miles/hr) or grams per liter (g/L) for density.
