Slope and point of intersection

What is the slope and point of intersection for y=3x? I've already graphed it, just having trouble finding these. Thanks.

Hi Michael.

 

The equation of the line is y = 3x

 

In this form (slope intercept, y=mx+b), the slope is the coefficient of the x variable.

The slope is 3

 

The intercept is the constant added to or subtracted from the 3x.  In this case, nothing is added or subtracted so the y intercept is 0, or written as a point, (0,0)

 

You graph should go through the origin.
