substitute in the given slope:                              y=1/4x+b

Substitute in point (4,2):                                   2=(1/4)(4)+b

Substract 1 from both sides:                             2=1+b

Solve for b:                                                      1=b

 

ANSWER: The equation of the line is y=1/4x+1
