The difference between consecutive odd (or even) integers is two.
Let one integer be x. The other (and larger one) is x + 2.
Their sum is 108.
x + x + 2 = 108
Simplify.
2x + 2 = 108
2x = 106
x = 53.
That's the smaller odd integer, though. We were asked for the larger.
The number we want is x + 2, or 55.
