Let N be the number of weekend trips

Ted's total income = ($0.32/mile)(number of miles driven) +($336)(number of weeks trips) 

            $3816.32 = ($0.32/mile)(9826 miles) + ($336)(N)

              3816.32 =3144.32 +336N

3816.32 - 3144.32 =336N               

                       672 =336 N    divide both sides by 336

N = 2

Total bonus = 2*$336 =$672

Percent of Ted's pay that is bonus = (bonuspay/total poay)x100%

                                                    =(672/3816.3)x100%

                                                    =17.61%
