Do you have a World Atlas? Anyway the territorial morphonology is very important in geopolitics, transportation, and defense among other things. It is how the shape of the country looks

 

Nepal and Portugal are elongated Nepal extends from west to east whereas Portal extends from north to south.

France is fragmented, the Island of Corsica is in the Mediterranean Sea and the rest of France is on Mainland Europe.

Nicaragua is perforated by its lakes and Columbia is compact
