I love math, and I love to teach it.
Hi, Juliana.
The slope is negative, so the line will be heading upward towards your left (2nd quadrant).
slope intercept form: y=mx +b, where "b" is the y-intercept and "m" is the slope
1. Start by plotting the y-intercept point, which is at (0,4). Put a point there. This is where the line intercepts the y-axis.
2. Look at the slope of -1/5. Start at the intercept point of (0,4). Then drop straight, down one unit for the -1 in the numerator of the slope fraction. Next, move 5 points horizontally, and place the point there. Then just draw your line through the points.
3. You can check this graph by entering the equation into the graphing mode (Y=) in your graphing calculator.
If you have further questions, just ask me. If I have helped, please give me a thumbs up.
