Hi Briana..Lets give this a try...
5.8n +3.7 =29.8 SUBTRACT 3.7 FROM BOTH SIDES
5.8n -3.7 -3.7
______________________
GIVING: 5.8n = 26.1 Divide BOTH SIDES BY 5.8
_______ ______
5.8 5.8
GIVING: n= 4.50 = ANSWER
Hope this helps !!
in order to solve this one algebraically i would start by subtracting 3.7 from both sides
5.8n + 3.7 = 29.8
5.8n = 26.1
then you can divide both sides by 5.8 in order to get n by itself
n = 26.1 / 5.8
n = 4.5
