Is this another way to solve and arrive at (no solution)?:
3x-3+x=4x+8
3x-3+3+x=4x+8+3
3x+x=4x+11
4x=4x+11
4x/4=4x/4+11
x=x+11

Yes, you just add +3 to both sides of equation, and show that a number can not be equal to 11 greater than its value.
