Get a piece of graph (quadruled) paper.
Dot the points (4, -2) and (5, -4)
Draw a line through the two points and intersecting the x and y axis.
Where the line intersects the x axis is the x-intercept.
Where the line intersects the y axis in the y-intercept.

I do not know how to graph without graph paper. Do you want an explanation using Algebra?

Use the two-point form: (y - y1) / (x - 1) = (y1 - y2) / x1 - x2)
(y - (-2)) / (x - 4) = (-2 -(-4)) / (4 - 5) simplify
(y + 2) / (x - 4) = (-2 + 4) / (4 - 5) combine
(y + 2) / (x - 4) = 2 / -1 product of means/extremes
-1(y + 2) = 2(x - 4) distribute
-y - 2 = 2x - 8 add 2 to both sides
-y = 2x - 6 multiply both sides by -1
y = -2x + 6
x-intercept at y = 0, or (3, 0)
y-intercept at x = 0, or (0, 6)
