As Norbert said: the slope -= rise/run or m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

As an example:  The slope between (4,-3) and (-11, 5) is:
                        [5-(-3)]/(-11-4) = 8/(-15) = -8/15

As Norbert also stated it makes no difference which point you
assign (x1,y1) and which (x2,y2).  Assigning them the other way gives:
m = (-3-5)/[4-(-11)] = -8/15
As can be seen the slope is the same regardless.
