Find the measure of each angle.

Given: AB⊥BC

Angle 1. angle 2, and angle 3 are in the ratio 2:6:10.

Find the measure of each angle.

 

I don't understand how to do this problem. Can some one please explain it to me?

Note: It is not a triangle it is a right angle with three angles in it.

I will answer this question with the assumption that angles 1,2, & 3 are components of angle ABC. Since AB is perpendicular to BC, then the measure of angle ABC is 90 degrees. If angle 1,2, & 3 are in the ratio of 2:6:10, then we may use 2x for the measure of angle 1, 6x for the measure of angle 2, and 10X for the measure of angle 3. Now, the sum of these three angles is 18X degrees. But it is also 90 degrees. Therefore X is 5. Then angle 1 must measure 10 degrees, angle 2 must measure 30 degrees, and angle 3 must measure 50 degrees.

 

I must be right since these three angles sum to 90 degrees (a right angle.)

assuming AB is horizontal and BC is vertical and the angle looks like:

the other three angles are above AB and to the right of BC

these three angle together form angle CBA

they are in the ratio 2:6:10

angle CBA=270º

2x+6x+10x=270

18x=270

x=270/18

x=15

2x=30º

6x=90º

10x=150º
