We can use corss multiplication in order to solve ratios that are set equal to each other. From the giving information we get the following equation:

 

(2n + 3)/(n + 8) = 5/3

 

3(2n + 3) = 5(n + 8)

 

6n + 9 = 5n + 40

 

6n -5n = 40 - 9

 

n = 31
