Hi Stephane,
"OF" generally means multiplication. . . 1/2 of 100 is 50. . . 1/2 x 100/1 = 100/2 = 50
You multiply the numerators and the denominators and then divide the numerator by the denominator in the new fraction.
Now do the same thing with 5/8 and 75. There will be a remainder which will be the numerator of the fraction in the mixed number.
Have fun.

Let's do an easier one. . . 1/3 of 5. . .
1/3 x 5/1 = 5/3
Now think of 5/3 as a division problem. . . 5 divided by 3 . . . equals 1 remainder of 2. . the remainder is two of the thirds
So it equals 1 2/3
To check this answer, multiply 3 times 1 2/3 to see if you get 5. . . if you multiply 3 times the whole number (3 x 1) you get 3.
If you multiply 3 times the fraction (3/1 x 2/3) you get 6/2 which equals 2.
If you add 3 and 2 you get 5. . . it works!
Now try 5/8 x 75/1
Good luck.
