Find the general indefinite integral

∫ (u + 4)(2u + 1) du

ANSWER: 2/3 * u3 + 9/2 * u2 + 4u + c
#9, p404

Hi Mia,

That is the answer.  You can't go any further because it is indefinite.  Indefinite integrals ends with +C where definite integrals ends with an actual value.

All you are doing is multiply (u+4) (2u+1) = (2u2 + 9u + 4).  And then integrate.
