I can help you with your math classes!
If you draw a straight line on a X and Y axis you will noticed that your line, however you draw it, will cross the X axis and the Y axis. We call these two points the Intercepts! To find these intercepts you will notice two awesome things! First, the point where your line crosses the X axis happens when the Y value it's zero! Also, you will notice that when your line crosses the Y axis the value of X it's zero! So that means that if you want to find the X intercept the value of Y has to be ZERO ALWAYS! And if you want to find the Y intercept the value of X has to be ZERO ALWAYS TOO!
Now that we know what we must do, let's do it!
The equation ion of your line it's: y=-X+3
Let's find the X intercept!
To find it we have to replace the Y with zero and then solve for X:
y=-X+3
0=-X+3
x=3 (you add X on both sides)
DONE!
Let's find the Y intercept!
To find it we have to replace the X with zero and then solve for Y:
y=-X+3
y=-0+3
y=3
DONE!
So the X intercept it's 3 and the Y intercept it's 3!
