I'm not sure if this problem is cross multiplication, or if I'm just overthinking the whole problem. Please help!

Hi, It is a cross multiplication:

 

                                 6     =     12

                              ____        _____

                                 8              X                        

 

 

                             6X   =    96

                            ___       ____

                              6            6                 Divide by 6

 

                            X    =    16
