2 2/3 x 2 /14

2 2/3 x 2 /14=?

Andrew M.

In changing 2 2/3 to an improper fraction ...
multiply the whole number "2" by the denominator "3" then
add the numerator "2" to that product...
(3)(2)+2 = 8
Put that sum over the original denominator "3"
Thus  2 2/3 = 8/3

Look at the 2nd fraction:  2/14
Both the numerator and denominator are divisible by 2
so you can reduce 2/14 to 1/7

So our problem now looks like:
(8/3)(1/7)

Multiply the numerators   8*1 = 8
Multiply the denominators:   3*7 = 21

Final answer:  8/21
