More accurately, your equation from prob statement should read:

17.50x+42.50≥200..............#lawn cut times $17.50 (price per lawn

                                                  cut) plus $42.50 salary (a constant)

           17.50x≥200-42.50....subtract 42.50 from both sides

           17.50x≥157.50.........divide both sides by 17.50, solve

                   x≥9

 

Solution (x≥9) means you must cut 9 (or more) lawns plus salary to

              earn at least $200.  Check your solution by substituting x=7 

              and x=12 into original equation to test for truth.
