Michael,
the last line in your solution is incorrect. I will continue it from the previous line where you showed that the supplement = 135 degrees.
1/2 of the supplement  of the complement = 135/2 = 67.5 degrees

Hilton,

How did you come up with 67.5 for the last part?  Please explain your reasoning.

The complement of 45 degrees is 45 degrees
The supplement of the complement is 180 -45 = 135 degrees

1/2 of the supplement of the complement = (1/2)135 = 67.5 degrees

Our angle is 45 degrees
The complement of 45 degrees is 90-45 = 45 degrees
The supplement of 45 degrees is 180-45 = 135 degrees

So the supplement of the complement is 135 degrees

1/2 of the supplement of the complement = (1/2)(135) = 67.5 degrees

The reference angle, as noted, is 45 degrees

The complement of the reference angle = 90-45 = 45 degrees
The supplement of the complement = 180-45 = 135 degrees

1/2 of the supplement of the complement = (1/2)(135) = 67.5 degrees
