Hi Kate,
The first sentence is there to confuse you because it doesn't matter how many types of washing powder there are if they all weigh the same.
The question tells you that each packet weighs 5 kg and 575 packets are sold each month.
So now you need to decide what to do with 5 and 575. . . which will give you the weight of washing powder that is sold in one month.
But the question asks for the weight sold in one year.
How many months are in one year?
This leads to your last step where you take the weight sold in one month that you already figured out and you take the number of months in one year and you do something with those two numbers to figure out the weight of washing powder sold in one year.
Have fun..
Dan
