 Just take an equation

 

   Y = mx +b , i.e.,  Y = 3X +5        Locate Y intercept ( 0,5) one point

                                                   

                                                   From that point go 3 points up one unit to the right, and get the second 

                                                    point, connect 2 points and extend.

 

                                  Y = -2X +5   in this case slope is negative; therefore, 2 points down and one point                                                          right , find the 2nd point and connect.
