This is due tomorrow and I need to use tape diagrams to answer this problem. Also if 1000 more people own a smartphone than a flip phone, how many people own each type of phone.

y = number of smartphone owners

y/x = 5/3  →   y = 5x/3

y = x + 1000 

5x/3 = x + 1000

2x/3 = 1000

x = 1500

y = 5x/3 = 2500
