 Fifteen thousand raffle tickets are sold. One prize of $2000, two second prizes of $750, and three third prizes of $300 each will be awarded, with all winners selected randomly. If you purchase one ticket what are your expected gross winnings

 

just got this question wrong for the second time on an online math class and I have no clue how to solve it!!!!!

or 1 in 3,375 billion

Reason:

The probability of wining one first prize=1/15000

The probability of wining one second prize from two second prizes=1/15000*1/15000=(1/15000)²

The probability of wining one second prize from two second prizes=1/15000*1/15000*1/15000=(1/15000)³
