Let P = cost of plow

 

T + P = 1200

 

T = 7P    because the tractor is worth 7 times as much as the plow attachment

 

7P + P = 1200

8P = 1200

P = 1200/8

P = 150

 

T = 7(150) = $1050

 

Tractor is worth $1,050 and the plow attachment is worth $150
