If you're spending a fraction of a time doing something, then you need to multiply that fraction:
3/4 * 1/3
To solve this, you multiply the two numerators together (3 * 1) and the denominators together (4 * 3)
3 * 1 = 3
----
4 * 3 = 12
Simplify that fraction, and you will get your final answer.
