finding f(g(x))

let f(x)= √x +1 and g(x)=(x-1)^2
 
find f(g(x))=

i got the same answer x but idk if i did my work wrong
my work is f(g(x))=(x-1)^2=(√x +1 -1)^2 =x
what did i do wrong?

Jonathan,
 
You performed g(f(x)).  Since you and Matthew each got x, this tells you that f(x) and g(x) are inverses.
