perimeter of each circle is, 8
(remember we are only concern with the perimeter on the outside.)
Length of each arch of a sector is given by equation,
s = theta * radius [ s is the arc length , theta is the angle inscribed by the sector, and r is the radius]
= (pi/2) * 4
= 2 pi
So total perimeter of figure = 4 +4 +4+4 +2pi +2pi
= 16 + 4 pi or ( 28.57 units)
