I am confused because I have to draw negative and positive squares the positive squares are blue and the red squares are negative the big squares are X counters and the small squares are asked counters

I can help with everything except the 'asked counters'. What do you mean by that?
So you have -2(3x - 8)
First, distributed the -2 by multiplying each number in the parentheses by -2
-2 x 3 & -2 x -8
It will give you, (-6x + 16).
From what you posted above, positive counters are blue so for any positive number draw that many blue squares.
16 is the only positive number so draw 16 blue squares
Also, negative numbers are red so draw red squares for each negative number
3 is the only negative number so draw 3 red squares
Next, the 'x' counters are big boxes so draw a box for each 'x'
There's only one 'x' in the equation so draw one big square
