I need to determine the value of a missing factor.

I know the calculation that provides the rate: 

Rate= Count/(Gallons/10000)

I am given the rate and the count or

3.028139= 12 /( x /10000)

I need to determine the number of gallons or vlaue of X

Any help would be appreciated.

R = C/(X/1000)  Solve for X

R = C (1000/X)  multiply by the reciprocal

R = 1000C/X

RX = 1000C  Multiply both sides by X.

X = 1000C/R

 

X = (1000)(12)/3.028139

 

X =  3,962
