Riders on a rollercoaster go an average speed of 61 feet per second for 3118 feet. They reach a maximum speed of 187 feet per second. If x represents the total time that the rollercoaster is in motion for each ride, write an expression to represent the situation.

The average speed is the total number of feet divided by the total time.

 

So 61 = 3118 / x

 

I don't think there's a way to bring the maximum speed into an equation.
