I can see that the answer is 48... but let's work the problem
Let the number be represented by xy
y is the units digit
x is the tens digit
x+y=12. the sum of the digits is 12
y=2x. the units digit is twice the tens digit
replacing y with 2x in the first equation we have
x+2x=12
3x=12
x=4
y=2x =2(4)=8
xy = 48
