The correct answer is 1.
This is how I got 1:
When you are dealing with negative numbers like -6 for example, and you have a minus sign in front of the negative, you always change the negative to a positive or vice versa
-5 - (-6)
-5 + 6= 1
another example : -5 - 8
-5 + (-8) = -13
3+(-5)= -2
^ with a plus sign, there is no change.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions and I would be happy to answer them for you!
