What was the average score for these eleven students together?

The whole question:
The average of four students' scores on a test was 70. The sum of seven other students' scores on the same math test was 160. What was the average score for these eleven students together?

I thought that I add 4(70) and 7(160) and divide by 11, but it seems that it is incorrect. Please help. Thank you.

Anna,
Your error was in multiplying 7(160)...
The average of the 2nd set of students was 160/7 ≅ 23

But to find the overall average you take the sum of all 11 grades and divide that total by 11
The 7 students grades added to 160..., not 7(160)

PLZ notice the words "average" and "sum"   --  tricked you, didn't they?

This is a "weighted average" -- 4 times 70 and 7 times (160/7),  all divided by 11.  So, it looks like:
     ( 4*70 + 160 ) / 11
