What is an equation for the speed of the dragonfly

A dragonfly can move 12 times as fast as a cockroach. If the dragonfly flies 33 miles per hour faster than the cockroach can crawl, write an equation that best describes the speed of the dragonfly

Let x = speed of cockroach

 

Then, 12x  = speed of dragonfly

 

But,  speed of dragonfly = speed of cockroach + 33

 

So, 12x = x + 33

 

       11x = 33

 

           x = 3 mph     12x = 36 mph
